Factory DSS launched a line for production of alloying elements of special steels

At the Zaporozhye plant «Dneprospetsstal»

(DSS) commissioned line for the production of the alloying elements for steels

special purpose. In particular, her equipment will be produced ferromolybdenum

— Ferroalloy used instead of expensive pure molybdenum to improve

qualities of cast iron, chromium-Nickel stainless steel alloys, tool steel and

other specific compositions. Planned capacity of new equipment — 3.5 tons

of ferromolybdenum per year.

In fact, the shop that installed

units for the production of ferroalloys was equipped with the appropriate equipment

in the last year, and to date, the line passed commissioning

«run-in». The owners of «Dneprospetsstal» the ferromolybdenum project cost

the amount exceeded $ 3 million, however, according to management

metallurgical company, this investment is justified. «On your own

needs „Dneprospetsstal“ will go less than a third produced on the new line

the alloying elements. About 2.5 thousand tons of ferromolybdenum every year can be profitable

to sell. Given that even with this number of products the plant will increase

the volume of turnover at 500 million.

Dneprospetsstal named after A. N. Kuzmina» — the only enterprise in Ukraine for

the production of rolled products of special grades of metal. In the nomenclature of the plant —

about 1000 different profiles rolled out more than 800 varieties of stainless,

structural, bearing, high speed, tool, heat-resistant and

other alloys of steel for special purposes.
