The Eurasian economic Commission advocated the introduction of quotas on imports of hot-rolled steel

Was recently published the new draft of the report of the Eurasian economic Commission. It is associated with the results of special protective investigation. The investigation was concerned with some types of metal. They are imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union. The report was prepared by the Department for internal market defence of the Eurasian economic Commission. The results of the investigation a proposal was made. So it is proposed to apply a special safeguard measure. We are talking about the quota, which will be 1 year. Its introduction will allow to avoid serious harm to the steel industry. It will also allow you to equalize conditions for domestic and foreign manufacturers.

The size of the quota may be 996,596 thousand tons. This is the average import volume of hot rolled coils. Refers to the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union. Most of the imports of hot-rolled steel accounted for the plate. So it was in the period from 2015 to 2017. Its share was about 56%. We are talking about the product code FEACN of the cu 7208519100. The same applies to codes 7208512009 and 7225404000. It want to allocate a separate quota. But it will be within the General.
